INITIAL MANAGEMENT OF THE POLYTRAUMATIZED PATIENT

The main objective of this course is to instruct the participant in the understanding of the processes that trigger the health problems of the patient who suffers a polytrauma, in order to identify them from the beginning and be able to apply the appropriate treatments and care to prevent or solve them.

Specific objectives include: acquiring the ability to perform the primary and secondary assessment of the polytraumatized patient, learning to stabilize him in an unstable state, knowing and handling the main methods of pre-hospital and hospital immobilization, identifying trauma by physical agents and their treatment, and acquiring the ability to assess simulated clinical situations acting according to an order of priority.

The program addresses the initial care of the trauma patient, the management of the airway in trauma (basic and advanced), chest trauma, and the transfer of the trauma patient, with components of clinical simulation and teamwork.
