AIRWAY MANAGEMENT — NEW MODALITIES

Airway management is a cornerstone in the daily work of the anesthesiologist. The purpose of this course is for specialists to be able to act competently in all invasive and non-invasive procedures involved in this area of the specialty, always ensuring patient safety.

The course trains professionals to quickly recognize and manage complications associated with airway manipulation, including hypoxemia, aspiration, and intubation failure, and implement contingency plans in emergency situations. It also encourages effective communication and coordination within the health care team.

The contents include anatomical variants of the difficult airway, pharmacology of anesthetic induction, use of supraglottic devices, advanced orotracheal intubation techniques with video laryngoscopes and fiberscopes, management of the surgical airway, and updating in guidelines and protocols with presentation of novel material.
