ANAESTHESIA REVALIDATION
REFRESHER COURSE
This intensive review course is designed to prepare advanced practice nurses in the specialty of Anesthesia for the revalidation exam administered by the Puerto Rico Nursing Examining Board (JEEPR), an essential requirement to obtain the license of Nurse Anesthetist and practice in Puerto Rico under Law No. 254 of 2015.
Importantly, the Puerto Rico revalidation is a JEEPR exam — distinct from the national certification exam administered by the NBCRNA in the United States. The question bank is prepared exclusively by the Board, the exam is offered on specific call dates, and the minimum passing score for the Advanced Practice (Anaesthesia) category is 78%.
Unlike the national review, the JEEPR does not publish a percentage breakdown of content domains. Therefore, this review organizes the study around the three core courses required by Law 254 as a requirement for academic preparation, along with the clinical functions and the legal framework that the Law itself recognizes for the Nurse Anesthetist in Puerto Rico.
